Betsson Group and the Greek basketball team AEK BC have announced an update to their ongoing partnership. After two years as Main Sponsor of AEK BC, Betsson now takes on the title of team name sponsor, effectively changing the team’s name to AEK BETSSON BC.
The announcement took place at a ceremony held at The Mall Athens on October 12. During the event, the AEK BETSSON BC’s new logo was unveiled. The attendees also watched the Greek movie “1968”. The film pays tribute to AEK’s historic victory in 1968, when the team won the European Cup in Athens, beating Slavia Prague.
In addition to the film, a video with highlights of the partnership was shown, including the donation of 100,000 euros to the victims of an earthquake in Turkey, which Betsson says shows a “joint commitment to humanitarian causes.”
Speaking at the event, Makis Angelopoulos, President of AEK BETSSON BC, expressed, “This partnership marks an exciting chapter in our history, combining our strengths to achieve great success together. We are deeply appreciative of the help and unwavering support we’ve consistently received from Betsson. It is through such active partnerships that we can excel in our game and continue to make history.”
