The Saturday Powerball drawing has awarded another seven-figure prize after a lucky ticket holder in New York matched all five white numbers required to win $1 million. The same drawing also awarded tier-three prizes to some 30 players across the US and UK.
New Yorker Took Home $1M
The Saturday Powerball drawing was another very eventful one, with dozens of noteworthy wins happening. Unfortunately, these didn’t include the jackpot, which stood at $298 million (cash value of $127.3 million) at the time of the drawing.
The winning Powerball numbers drawn on September 19 were 18, 30, 41, 45, and 68, plus the red Powerball 10. The Power Play multiplier for that drawing was 2x.
As mentioned, a single lucky player in New York managed to win $1 million after matching all five white numbers but not the Powerball. Since the winner did not have the Power Play feature active, they missed out on the opportunity to win $2 million.
At the same time, 30 players won tier-three prizes after matching four white numbers and the red Powerball. Of these, 23 won $50,000 each, while the remaining 7 won $100,000 each thanks to Power Play.
Since the jackpot remained unclaimed, it has now officially passed the $300 million mark, reaching $313 million for the next drawing. A hypothetical winner would also be able to pick the cash option of $133.6 million if the annuity option is not to their liking.
The next drawing is set to take place later today.
The Jackpot Stands Strong, But Smaller Wins Continue to Occur
Last Wednesday’s Powerball drawing did not award the jackpot or a Match 5 prize. However, that drawing saw a dozen players win tier-three prizes, which included six wins of $100,000.
Last Saturday’s drawing was a different thing, since it awarded not one, but two Match 5 prizes. One of these sums was a $1 million win in Georgia, while the other one was a $2 million win in Ohio. The same drawing also awarded two $100,000 prizes.
In other news, the Mega Millions jackpot is also creeping up toward the $300 million mark after players failed to win it last Friday. Currently, that game’s jackpot is standing at $261 million with a cash option of $110.5 million.
