The North Carolina Education Lottery has awarded another happy local with a six-figure prize on Thursday, September 24. The man, identified as Joshua Pulliam of Ayden, was playing a Fast Play ticket. The prize was worth $859, 725.
Pulliam had bought a 100X The Cash Fast Play game ticket at the Food Lion on Old Tar Road in Winterville, which ended up being the winning one for the massive payout. Even more incredibly, when he was purchasing his ticket, the jackpot was still only $695, 725.
By the time of the draw, the prize had grown by an additional $200,000, sweetening the pot as it were. After the applicable federal and state tax withholdings, the sum of the jackpot is reduced to $645,017, a still respectable amount.
The winner opted for the lump sum, evidently, which is the preferred way to claim this sort of reward. The odds of actually winning the 100X The Cash jackpot are also pretty good: 1 in 320,000.
This is not the only recent good story coming from the NC Lottery. Previously in June, two players claimed some pretty big prizes. One player scooped a $1,000,000 top prize from a $10 50X Cash scratch-off ticket.
Yet another player scooped the exact same award from the $10 LOTERIA MULTIPLIER scratch-off, after the winner nearly threw her ticket into the trash.
