Next year, Oprah Winfrey will be bringing a new live production to Las Vegas, with the media icon set to helm a full arts experience at the Sphere.
Oprah Winfrey Sets Four-Show Run for AHA at Las Vegas Sphere
“Oprah Winfrey’s AHA” will be performed April 2-4, 2027, with four shows over the three-day weekend. The two-hour event will feature music, poetry, storytelling, and visual art, with Winfrey onstage for the entire event.
The project was inspired by Winfrey’s first visit to Sphere for U2’s opening performance in 2023. Winfrey noted that she was in a venue that had massive visuals and a sound system that was state-of-the-art, so she started thinking about how the technology could support an experience that was about reflection and connecting with people, as opposed to a concert.
Winfrey has said the production continues themes that have defined much of her career. These include things like personal growth, self-discovery and epiphanies. Hence, she sees AHA as a chance to take those ideas and put them in a new format, using the technical capabilities of the Sphere.
A number of leading artists from a variety of creative fields will take part in the show. Seven-time Grammy winner Jacob Collier will perform with poet and author Ocean Vuong, musician Ajeet and gospel singer Wintley Phipps.
The production also brings together a large creative team. Oscar-nominated composer Max Richter provides the musical direction and original music. The project also features Grammy-winning vocal director Jason White and electronic music producer Jon Hopkins.
Oprah Winfrey’s AHA to Combine Art and Sphere’s Advanced Technology
The script will be written by Tarell Alvin McCraney, an Academy Award winner for his work on Moonlight. Artist and stage designer Es Devlin will create original visual work, and the Plum Village Monks will also be involved in the production.
AHA is directed by Ethan Tobman and produced by Baz Halpin. The event, which is presented by Live Nation, counts Oprah Winfrey as an executive producer.
Sphere’s technology will play an important role in the production. The audience will be surrounded by a huge LED screen, so they will not be getting just a traditional stage, they will be getting the visuals all around them. The musical and spoken elements of the production will also be delivered via the venue’s Sphere Immersive Sound system.
Tickets will begin at $145 with general sales starting on September 25. Fans can sign up for presale access and look at travel options on the official website of the event.
The production represents yet another significant expansion of Sphere’s programming beyond traditional concerts. It is also a new way for Winfrey to mix the ideas and storytelling that have defined her decades-long career.
