Powerball has had a very eventful Monday drawing, with two seven-figure wins happening at the same time. However, the jackpot remained elusive, allowing it to reach $271 million for the Wednesday drawing.
Ohioan Wins $2M, Georgian Grabs $1M
The Powerball game has experienced one of its most eventful drawings since the recent jackpot win. While the $253 million jackpot (cash value of $107.4 million) was not won, players in Ohio and Georgia won seven-figure sums after matching the five white numbers.
Speaking of numbers, the winning ones for the drawing that took place on September 14 were 19, 20, 57, 61, and 67, plus the red Powerball 22. The Power Play multiplier was 2x.
As mentioned, not one but two players matched all five white numbers to win big sums. One of these wins was scored by a player in Georgia who is now eligible to redeem a $1 million payout. The second win happened in Ohio, where a player won $2 million thanks to the Power Play feature.
That’s not all, however, since six players matched four of the white numbers plus the red Powerball. This success netted four of them $20,000 each, while the remaining two won $100,000 each, thanks to Power Play.
The Top Prize Creeps Up Toward the $300M Mark
Despite two Match 5 wins materializing, the Powerball jackpot stood strong, resisting players’ attempts to win it. As a result, it has now grown to $271 million for the next drawing. A hypothetical winner on Wednesday would also be able to go with the one-time lump sum payment of $115.1 million, if the annuity option is not to their liking.
In the meantime, the Saturday Powerball drawing was also an eventful one, albeit in different ways. Instead of Match 5 sums, that drawing awarded some nine $100,000 prizes to players in various regions. To top it all off, 21 more players had matched four white numbers plus the Powerball without having the Power Play feature active, netting them $50,000 each.
Earlier this month, a Powerball player in California won a Match 5 prize, which would have normally secured them a prize of between $1 and $2 million. However, since California bases the payouts on the number of tickets sold, rather than fixed sums, that player ended up winning $185,595.
As of the time of this writing, Powerball has awarded six jackpots in 2026, with the most recent win happening in the state of Illinois.
