Financially Struggling DoorDash Driver Staked By Poker Vlogger Runs Deep at WSOP

Corey Eyring 2026 WSOP

Nixon Diaz finished in 26th place for $14,510 at the World Series of Poker (WSOP), in the $1,000 Pot-Limit Omaha event.

That isn’t the story. You probably aren’t even familiar with Diaz. After all, he’d never even cashed in a live poker tournament recorded by The Hendon Mob prior to the start of the 2026 WSOP. The story is how he even entered the tournament, and it started via a chance encounter with popular poker vlogger Corey Eyring.

Eyring, who has 187,000 YouTube subscribers, was looking to give $20,000 to two subscribers to play poker at the WSOP. He ordered some food from DoorDash, and the driver told him, “I think I’ve seen you out playing poker man,” and the two shook hands.

That driver was Diaz, who then recalled that Alan Keating had bought Eyring into the $25,000 Super Main Event at the 2025 WSOP Paradise series in the Bahamas. Eyring was impressed. So impressed that he made an offer the DoorDash driver couldn’t refuse.

“If you want to play the WSOP, I’ll freeroll it,” Eyring told him. “I’ll do what Keating did to me to you.”

Diaz was nearly moved to tears and responded, “Man, I’m gonna cry right now, because I was asking for that, bro. I can’t afford it, bro. You know what I mean? Damn, bro, for real? I would love that, bro. I would really love that, bro.”

Eyring then handed him $500, but not to play poker. That was just the tip. Plenty more would come so that Diaz could compete in the World Series of Poker.

“Man, I wish I could get deep into it, bro,” Diaz told Eyring.

Diaz’ wish of running deep at the WSOP would come true. He first cashed in 78th place out of 2,636 players for $2,140 in the $600 Deepstack Pot-Limit Omaha tournament. On Monday, he bagged a top 30 stack on Day 1c out of over 1,800 players who entered the session in the $1,000 Pot-Limit Omaha event.

Day 2 was going smoothly. He’d spun his stack up into the chip lead by middle of the day and was on his way to that life-changing $390,300 first-place prize. But PLO is a swingy game, and the heater turned into a downswing. Less than an hour before the session concluded, he was eliminated in 26th place. The $14,510 payout doesn’t compare to what he would have received had he won the bracelet. But it’s still a nice bonus for the DoorDash driver.

Diaz, who said in a recent Eyring YouTube video, admitted he “started doing really well, illegally” and got caught, which sent him to prison for five years. He said he was living off his gambling in prison, making money hustling his fellow inmates at the poker tables.

“Soups, they were coming in every day,” he laughed.

Nixon has paid his debt to society, and now he’s a free man trying to rebuild his life. Eyring’s certainly helping out. He gave Diaz enough to cover three months rent, some spending cash, and to play poker at the World Series of Poker.

Thus far, the investment seems to be paying off for Eyring, who receives 50% of all profits Diaz racks up at the 2026 WSOP.
