At the end of May, Robbie Strazynski kicked off his Mixed Game Festival XIV, which marked the third time the popular series was held at Bellagio (both the VIII and XI editions were held there).
The festival, which will run through this Thursday, June 11, has attracted some of the biggest names in poker, including Lon McEachern, Norman Chad, Linda Johnson, and Jan Fisher.
The action varies from day to day, but more often than not, it’s a packed house with lovers of mixed games who rotate among roughly 50 different poker variants.
“I am beyond thrilled with how things are going at this year’s festival! Pretty much every day we’ve had four low-stakes dealer’s choice mix tables running, and a record five on Day 6,” Strazynski told PokerNews. “Lon and Norm came, the Pokercoaching MUG was fantastic, and we’ve given away two $3,500 seats to the BetMGM Poker Championship.”
While cash games are the main part of the Mixed Game Festival, there are also plenty of other opportunities and events offered. Among the extracurricular activities to take place during the Mixed Game Festival XIV are a book signing by 101+ Poker Tips author Rick Gleason, a Pokercoaching.com Meet-Up Game (MUG) with Jonathan Little and Justin Saliba, David Bach, and an appearance by Poker Hall of Famer Mori Eskandani (that will take place on Tuesday, June 9).

Another big draw was MGM offering up three $3,500 seats to be awarded throughout the Mixed Game Festival XIV. The seat will be for the BetMGM Championship, a $4 million guaranteed no-limit hold’em competition that runs June 29-July 4 at ARIA.
In the first giveaway last week, PokerNews was on-site to capture a series of PLO flips that led to winner Martin Mata claiming a seat. What’s more, MGM’s Executive Director Poker Strategy & Development Sean McCormack gave the losing finalists a nice consolation prize in the form of a $300 entry into a BetMGM event of their choosing.
There is still one opportunity for a $3,500 seat that will be given away this Thursday.
“Our final seat giveaway is on Thursday, and all you have to do to win is guess the correct sum value of the tournament chips inside a lucite box,” said Strazynski. So, be the closest to the right number and you could win your way into the $3,500 BetMGM Championship!
