Nik Airball doesn’t seem to think Daniel Negreanu’s tournament poker talents will carry over to his first appearance on Hustler Casino Live.
The self-proclaimed “King of LA,” a regular on HCL, is already trash-talking the Poker Hall of Famer more than a week ahead of the game. Negreanu, fresh off a strong performance at the 2026 World Series of Poker (WSOP), is making his first televised cash game appearance in years. But the poker legend is far from a beginner when it comes to playing cash games.
He used to appear regularly on shows like High Stakes Poker, and grinded back in the day inside Bobby’s Room at Bellagio or at The Mirage in Las Vegas, where the top pros played cash games in the 1990s and early 2000s.
‘Coming for his F*****g Head’
Negreanu and Airball won’t be playing heads-up, so the $100/$200 No-Limit Hold’em cash game isn’t just about them. The lineup also includes Andy Stacks, Sam “Senor Tilt” Kiki, Randy “3Coin” Sadler, and a few other experienced Hustler Casino Live players.
But Negreanu is the headliner, a role Airball has become accustomed to on HCL. Airball, the winningest player in Hustler Casino Live history, has already started trash-talking the eight-time WSOP bracelet winner.
Airball is almost exclusively a high-stakes cash game player. He’s taken shots at the tournament grinders in the past, claiming they couldn’t hang in the HCL ring. Tournament players such as Alex Foxen and Martin Kabrhel did compete on the show during the WSOP, however.
But Negreanu, a GGPoker ambassador, has been the top target for HCL co-owner Ryan Feldman ever since GGPoker bought a stake in the livestream. He’s finally going to step onto the main stage at Hustler Casino in Los Angeles on Aug. 28 to battle against Airball and some other HCL regulars.
Airball doesn’t have much confidence in Negreanu showing up in his arena to dominate in the cash game streets. He told PokerNews he predicts the poker legend will “nit it up and survive, or play some hands and die.”
